Description
This beautiful and very useful shopping basket was made by hand by the Puupeelum group of weavers in Bolgatanga, Northern Ghana.
The grasses used to weave this item grow wild and are gathered, prepared and naturally dyed by members of the group, ready to be woven into a unique, biodegradable piece.
The baskets measure 26cms high and 43cms end to end. The handles are bound with cow hide to make them more comfortable to hold.
You can, of course, use these baskets for shopping, but also to hold craft projects, craft materials, blankets and all manner of things.
They sit very neatly by the side of a chair or sofa.
