This range of shopping baskets is made by a group of women working together in Bolgatanga, Ghana. They call their group Puupeelum, which means ‘happiness’, because the work they do earns them enough to look after their families and send their children to school. They use natural materials which grow in the area around their homes.
These shoppers have strong handles which are large enough to allow the basket to be carried on your shoulder; they are bound with leather for comfort.
They measure a generous 12″/30cms high and are about 15″/40cms at their widest point, although the hand made nature of these items means that all sizes are approximate. Every one of them is unique.
Supplied shaped and ready to use.
